Cushion foundation was a popular news in 2015, and now more and more brands are starting with cushion bronzers as well! Same principle and packaging, but a bronzer instead of foundation.<\/p>\n

Cushion-produkter \u00e4r allts\u00e5 en burk med en kudde\/svamp i som \u00e4r dr\u00e4nkt i en flytande produkt (t.ex. flytande foundation, flytande bronzer). Vid f\u00f6rsta anblick \u00e4r detta en produkt d\u00e4r man t\u00e4nker “varf\u00f6r skulle detta vara n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndigt?” och “jisses vad ohygieniskt”, det gjorde jag ocks\u00e5 i b\u00f6rjan. Men faktum \u00e4r att jag mer och mer b\u00f6rjar gilla den h\u00e4r typen av produkter! :)<\/p>\n

But to return to just cushion-bronzers, two brands that are releasing this as a novelty this spring are L'Or\u00e9al Paris and IsaDora. I have received press samples of both and now I thought I would compare them with each other and tell you why I like this type of bronzer!<\/p>\n

L'Or\u00e9al Glam Bronze Cushion De Soleil and IsaDora Nude Cushion Foundation - 30 Bronzes.<\/p>\n

Price and launch<\/strong>
\nI'm blogging from home right now and have the press material at work crazy enough, but if I remember correctly, L'Or\u00e9al's bronzer is in store already now and costs SEK 199. While IsaDora does not launch its bronzer until week 20 and I do not remember the price of it, but their cushion foundations cost SEK 249, so I can assume that this will end up at about the same.<\/p>\n

Packaging<\/strong>
\nL'Or\u00e9al and IsaDora come in similar packaging, but in different colors. A jar with a mirror, and when you open the first lid there is a small makeup puff there, and then you open the next lid to get to the bronzer itself:<\/p>\n

Texture<\/strong>
\nL'Or\u00e9al is a little lighter in texture, while IsaDora is a little more creamy and thick.<\/p>\n

Color<\/strong>
\nIsaDora's bronzer shade is much finer in my opinion, more bronze-brown while L'Or\u00e9als has a more yellow-brown tone.<\/p>\n

Why is liquid bronzer a good idea?
\n<\/strong>I like a liquid bronzer more than a cream bronzer (ie a bronzer that is in a thick, creamy cake and not runny) because a liquid is lighter in formula and more easily applied without having to work it so much into the skin, which is nice if you have a foundation under which I always have. And if you use liquid foundation, it can be easier to shape your face with a liquid bronzer that blends in well with your foundation, than to wrap on a bronzer in powder form.<\/p>\n

I probably still prefer bronzer in powder form, but liquid and creamy bronzers (and contouring) give a little more effect and many people therefore like to work with it over powder.<\/p>\n

Why is cushion bronzer a good idea?<\/strong>
\nIf you are going to work with a liquid bronzer in an ordinary bottle, you have to pour out a click of bronzer first and then dab with the brush so that you do not get too much on the brush. Messy and difficult. But with a cushion bronzer, you just have to dab with the brush straight down into the jar, and you get up just right! :)<\/p>\n

Unhygienic?<\/strong>
\nHaving a liquid product in a sponge in a jar like this is not the most hygienic solution, no, but I also do not think it will be the worst bacterial bomb from using the brush on a cleaned face and dipping a few times. As long as you wash the brush after each use (which you should do anyway) and as I said, have a completely clean face first, which you should always have before you start putting on make-up.<\/p>\n

Application<\/strong>
\nMakeup puffs that are included can be thrown away directly in my opinion, I always do that with these included make-up sponges. With it, it will probably be impossible to get a nice result. I apply with Nanshy<\/a><\/strong> Stippling brush (currently only available in the Masterful Collection set but will be available for purchase separately in just a few weeks).<\/p>\n

Then I apply as usual contouring, in the deep parts of the face, and I do it by first dabbing with the dotting brush and then sweeping with it to easily massage the bronzer into my liquid foundation.<\/p>\n

Do you need a liquid foundation to use cushion bronzer?<\/strong>
\nWell I would like to answer this question, I have tested IsaDoras also over a mineral foundation and it worked great and turned out nice. But it was not as easy to get it even, and then the whole point of having a liquid bronzer disappears, I think.<\/p>\n

IsaDora results<\/strong>
\nIn the before and after picture above you see the result with IsaDora Cushion Bronzer. I think it's nice! I am very pale now and have used a lot of bronzer, so it was very effective, but for the summer and for you who are a little browner than me you can probably use it both for contouring but also a little more over the face to see a little extra tan out.<\/p>\n

Result L'Or\u00e9al<\/strong>
\nL'Or\u00e9al gives a milder result, which is probably largely due to the fact that the formula is lighter than IsaDoras. And like this on the face, I do not think that the tone looks a little yellow-brown, which I was a little bothered by when I applied a lot on the hand. Looks nice!<\/p>\n

Summary<\/strong>
\nI like IsaDora more! It has a nicer color, I thought the formula was a little easier to apply (although I thought it would be the opposite when I first tested these on the hand) and also think that IsaDoras is more effective.<\/p>\n

L'Or\u00e9al had a lighter consistency and gives a milder result, which many of you probably prefer to the opposite, but for such a result you can just as well use powder bronzers, I think because I use creamy bronzers when I want a more effective result: )<\/p>\n

By the way, I read on\u00a0Molkan's blog<\/a>\u00a0that she could not help but think that cushion bronzers came about when they tested cushion foundation in the wrong color and got the brilliant idea to sell the shade as a bronzer instead. I had not thought of the idea myself first, but after reading it and then seeing that it even says cushion foundation on IsaDora's packaging, I can not help but think that it is probably so haha :)<\/p>\n
