N\u00e4r jag b\u00f6rjade skriva detta inl\u00e4gg s\u00e5 t\u00e4nkte jag skriva “5 tips till unga\u00a0entrepren\u00f6rer” f\u00f6r jag har en bild av att \u00e4ldre drivna m\u00e4nniskor inte kan ta till sig tips fr\u00e5n en 24-\u00e5ring haha.<\/p>\n

But I changed quickly, because even though the tips may not be so inspired for you who already have large and successful companies, they apply to all ages and industries and if you are newly started, have not started yet or have a company for a long time.<\/p>\n

After I started blogging about my business week every Sunday, some emails from other entrepreneurs asking for tips and advice have started to come in. This is how I thought I would share my 5 best tips as an entrepreneur! The first 2 are a bit more abstract and the last 3 are more practical :)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

TIP 1 - Do not follow everyone else's advice<\/strong>
\nBrainstorming ideas with people around is important, especially if you are alone in the company, you can develop your ideas and get new perspectives. And some people can be a real source of inspiration to talk to!<\/p>\n

But brainstorming ideas and actually following the advice of others is not the same thing. If you are alone in the company (as I started), it is very easy to be influenced by people around. Had I followed everyone's advice, I would never have been where I am today.<\/p>\n

Hade jag lyssnat p\u00e5 andra s\u00e5 hade jag f\u00f6rst och fr\u00e4mst inte levt utan l\u00f6n s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge, att jobba hemifr\u00e5n i 2 \u00e5r och inte ta ut n\u00e5gon l\u00f6n = ledig anser m\u00e5nga. Och hade jag inte gjort det s\u00e5 hade jag inte heller byggt upp f\u00f6retaget s\u00e5 stadigt fr\u00e5n grunden som jag har gjort nu. Jag hade antingen tagit extrajobb p\u00e5 dagis eller ICA, vilket hade gjort att jag inte kunnat l\u00e4gga lika mycket tid och energi p\u00e5 f\u00f6retaget. Det var ett regelbundet\u00a0tips jag fick “jag h\u00f6rde att dom s\u00f6ker extra p\u00e5 dagis, du kan\u00a0s\u00e4kert f\u00e5 lite timmar d\u00e4r!”. Jag har bloggat lite om detta f\u00f6rut om ni vill l\u00e4sa det i this post<\/a> :)<\/p>\n

Och jag hade absolut inte v\u00e5gat starta upp Creative Makeup som salongen ser ut idag om jag hade lyssnat p\u00e5 andra, \u00e4ven fast\u00a0Creative Makeup redan fanns s\u00e5 gjorde vi det s\u00e5 mycket st\u00f6rre att det fortfarande var en stor risk och mycket jobb. Alla r\u00e5d\u00a0som “kan ni inte f\u00e5 plats i Annikas nuvarande salong p\u00e5 47 kvm ist\u00e4llet?” eller “kan du inte fr\u00e5ga Annika om hon kan anst\u00e4lla dig ist\u00e4llet?” eller bara allm\u00e4nna kommentarer som “hur h\u00f6g hyra \u00e4r det inte d\u00e4r det kan v\u00e4l aldrig funka!” o.s.v.<\/p>\n

Alla ger r\u00e5d f\u00f6r att vara sn\u00e4lla och f\u00f6r att dom tycker om att hj\u00e4lpa till, och man ska absolut vara \u00f6ppen f\u00f6r ibland kommer andra med riktigt bra id\u00e9er! Men det \u00e4r j\u00e4tteviktigt att inte l\u00e5ta sig p\u00e5verkas av andras tankar f\u00f6r om du sj\u00e4lv \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt driven och nyt\u00e4nkande och p\u00e5verkas av personer som t\u00e4nker mer inside the box s\u00e5 kommer du aldrig n\u00e5 lika l\u00e5ngt som om du hade g\u00e5tt din egen v\u00e4g. Dessutom ger folk dig r\u00e5d f\u00f6r att dom bryr sig om dig vilket direkt resulterar i att alla r\u00e5d \u00e4r ganska “safe”, ingen vill uts\u00e4tta n\u00e5gon man tycker om f\u00f6r en risk. Och ju st\u00f6rre risk desto h\u00f6gre avkastning som ni vet ;)<\/p>\n

Here I am when I put on make-up at Annika's first salon when I worked from home + did some freelance jobs as a makeup artist. Already here I got the tips to talk to Annika about a job, but that was not what I wanted, I also wanted to be an entrepreneur! :)<\/p>\n

TIP 2 - Dare! Dare! Dare!<\/strong>
\nDare to dream, dare to be different and dare to take risks.<\/p>\n

Att v\u00e5ga g\u00e5 sin egen v\u00e4g och ta lite annorlunda val som folk tycker \u00e4r riskabla eller ibland rent av knasiga, det \u00e4r en j\u00e4tteviktig del i drivet! N\u00e4r jag f\u00f6r 5 \u00e5r sedan sa meningen\u00a0“jag ska blogga, \u00a0starta en egen webshop och jobba hemifr\u00e5n p\u00e5 obest\u00e4md tid” vintern 2012 och var s\u00e5d\u00e4r \u00f6verexalterad s\u00e5 tyckte m\u00e5nga jag var helt kn\u00e4pp. “Ska du s\u00e4lja till kompisar typ?” minns jag att det var en som sa. Men det var ju inte s\u00e5 himla kn\u00e4ppt egentligen, det var ju knappt en risk, vad hade jag att f\u00f6rlora d\u00e5 liksom? I dagsl\u00e4get \u00e4r det fler som lever p\u00e5 sociala medier och egna varum\u00e4rken i och med det, men det var inte lika vanligt 2012, speciellt inte eftersom jag inte var en av dom stora bloggarna.<\/p>\n

Att v\u00e5ga satsa p\u00e5 det man tycker \u00e4r roligt \u00e4r faktiskt inte en s\u00e5 himla stor risk. Annika brukar ofta s\u00e4ga “vad \u00e4r det v\u00e4rsta som kan h\u00e4nda?” och n\u00e4r man funderar p\u00e5 det s\u00e5 blir det ganska tydligt vilka risker som \u00e4r v\u00e4rda att ta och vilka risker som kanske inte ens \u00e4r “risker” utan bara lite l\u00e4skiga.<\/p>\n

It's worse to fail if you've spent several years on something you do not like, than if you fail on something you like.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jag pratade om detta med Miska\u00a0h\u00e4r om helgen och jag \u00e4r s\u00e5\u00e5 glad att vi delar samma v\u00e4rderingar kring detta. Han v\u00e5gade s\u00e4ga upp sig fr\u00e5n en fast tj\u00e4nst f\u00f6r att b\u00f6rja i f\u00f6retaget med mig, m\u00e5nga fr\u00e5gade “men vad ska han g\u00f6ra i sminkbranchen?”\u00a0och “hur ska det g\u00e5 att jobba med sin partner, ni kanske tr\u00f6ttnar p\u00e5 varandra” men\u00a0jag hade nog stupat f\u00f6r l\u00e4nge sen om inte Miska hade varit med mig kan jag s\u00e4ga! :)<\/p>\n

And here we are on our first kickoff with the company last summer, when we presented our first goal and goal picture! You can read about our latest kickoff in this post <\/a>:)<\/p>\n

N\u00e4r vi skulle sl\u00e5 ihop oss med Annika och Creative Makeup s\u00e5 sa Annika “vad \u00e4r det v\u00e4rsta som kan h\u00e4nda?” och vi kom fram till att det v\u00e4rsta som kan h\u00e4nda \u00e4r att vi f\u00e5r g\u00e5 tillbaka till att jobba som vi jobbar nu (allts\u00e5 som vi jobbade d\u00e5). Att d\u00e4remot inte ta denna chans var f\u00f6r Annika en st\u00f6rre risk,\u00a0f\u00f6r hade hon varit ensam i sitt f\u00f6retag mycket l\u00e4ngre till s\u00e5 hade hon nog g\u00e5tt in i v\u00e4ggen till slut – och det hade varit en katastrof p\u00e5 riktigt!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Men det \u00e4r inte bara att v\u00e5ga ta risker utan jag vill \u00e4ven po\u00e4ngtera vikten av att v\u00e5ga vara annorlunda. D\u00e4r \u00e4r Annika en stor inspiration f\u00f6r mig, hon har alltid g\u00e5tt sin egen v\u00e4g och kommer med m\u00e5nga id\u00e9er som inte \u00e4r s\u00e5 jantelag om man s\u00e4ger s\u00e5 och jag och Miska \u00e4r inte sena p\u00e5 att haka p\u00e5! Hon hoppade av gymnasiet och hennes kompisar blev oroliga, en sa till och med “du kommer bli uteliggare” haha.\u00a0S\u00e5 fel dom hade ;)<\/p>\n

To dare to start a 367 sqm salon, go all in on white and luxurious furnishings, rent a worsting massage armchair just as a service to customers, hire more people so that we can work more to develop the company instead of taking everyone customers themselves, make a big investment when the account goes plus or minus zero, etc. Everything can seem foolhardy, we could have had a much smaller salon, had fewer employees and made much more profit at the end of the day, but we choose to sprinkle some money on the dot-over-in-things and it pays back in the end! :)<\/p>\n

Here we had just gained access to the room, Miska is pulling nails out of the walls that were to be plastered and painted :)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Me in our first office! We did not fill all the space first so we had a huge office space! At present this is a treatment room, now we have a small room as an office.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This is what it looks like when you enter our entrance, the crystal chandelier was expensive but a must haha and the painting on me and Annika is painted by talented Kattis Palmn\u00e4s<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For all customers who have time under the anesthesia before permanent makeup or who arrive early before their booking can relax in our massage chair that scans the body and provides a massage adapted to the person's measurements!<\/p>\n

TIP 3 - Two budgets, one optimistic and one break even<\/b>
\nFinances are a must for a successful company, it does not matter how good you are at working because if you do not know the finances, the company can collapse quite quickly.<\/p>\n

You often hear that you should have low costs rather than high income, when you make a budget you should exaggerate costs and underestimate the income, that it is easy to get rich but that it often does not become the same in practice.<\/p>\n

Allts\u00e5 jag h\u00e5ller med om allt det, men vet ni vad? Jag f\u00e5r aldrig ihop min budget.\u00a0Jag lider inte av \u00e5ngest men det n\u00e4rmaste jag kommer dom k\u00e4nslorna \u00e4r fasen n\u00e4r jag sitter med min budget och inser att f\u00f6retaget om\u00f6jligt kan \u00f6verleva och t\u00e4nker “hur kan vi inte ha g\u00e5tt i konkurs redan” haha. Men sen\u00a0i slutet av m\u00e5naden s\u00e5 har vi g\u00e5tt plus igen och trots att all skatt\u00a0har betalats in och alla har f\u00e5tt sin l\u00f6n s\u00e5 har vi n\u00e5gra hundra tusen kvar p\u00e5 f\u00f6retagskontot. Jag blir lika \u00f6verraskad varje m\u00e5nad och har blivit det i tv\u00e5 \u00e5rs tid nu haha.<\/p>\n

I made a budget before we opened the salon but then I had zero knowledge of what it is like to run a salon. And I'm actually happy about that if I am to be completely honest, I probably would never have dared if I had had the budget knowledge I possess today haha.<\/p>\n

When I make a budget in the current situation, I first make a plus-minus-zero budget, ie what we have to deduct in order for all costs to be covered. Then I make an optimistic budget with top numbers like goes<\/em> to reach but which does not always feel so realistic when you sit and enter them. It helps me a lot! Because it is important to have a budget that pushes the boundaries, but it is also important to be able to see clearly what the minimum income and maximum costs are in order to have an overview of the economy and be able to take action quickly. before<\/em> it goes to the forest.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here we celebrated a year at the new salon! I still freak out about budget and finances sometimes, although it's going well for us now, but then I usually calm down with the fact that if we survived the first year as everything looked then we have nothing to worry about now haha.<\/p>\n

TIP 4 - Build a strong team<\/strong>
\nMany people are afraid to hire, and I understand that in today's society, employees have so many rights, which of course is good, but for a small company, it can also have devastating consequences if you happen to hire the wrong person.<\/p>\n

What I have learned during my 2 years with employees is that there are no shortcuts to a strong cohesion. Just because the people are driven, you can not just throw them into the company and expect everything to work smoothly. And as a manager, there is a balance between being kind and being too kind. You should be sensitive, open, humble and care and listen to your colleagues but at the same time not forget to be fair, always think of the company's best in the first place and remember that clarity is not the same as being mean.<\/p>\n

Communication and structures are the best we have done for the company. Everyone is involved, everyone knows how things are going in the company, everyone knows what our goal picture is, we have the same values, really good teamwork and even open cards if something does not work as it should. It's better for everyone! This is a daily job and nothing you do once and get done with, but it must be maintained, but I can say with my hand on my heart that I am so extremely proud of our team at Creative Makeup now! \u2665 Me, Miska and Annika have patted us on the shoulder over everything we have built up but now we have come so far that the staff should also pat themselves on the shoulder, without their drive we would never have had such a good company as we have today!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

TIP 5 - Focus on what YOU are good at<\/strong>
\nTo compare oneself with others and do the same thing but try to be better than them, it is in many cases that is shooting oneself in the foot. You will then always be one step behind and nothing will be unique. It is so important to focus on what you are good at, put your own stamp on the company, create a relationship with the customers and think about what your brand stands for. Then you will be competitive!<\/p>\n

We notice so clearly that Creative Makeup is a brand that customers trust, they trust us, feel a relationship with us and know that we do everything with high quality. Now we will invest even more in shaping what the brand stands for: The finishing touch, everyday luxury, well-being (beauty is wellness!) And self-esteem :)<\/p>\n

Our logo stands for that we are the dot over in. The logo itself contains a C as in Creative Makeup and on the text below, that logo is literally the dot over in;)<\/p>\n

Jag sl\u00e4nger in ett litet bonustips ocks\u00e5 som jag inte ska bli s\u00e5 ing\u00e5ende p\u00e5, och det \u00e4r att dr\u00f6mma stort! Jag pratar ofta om min karri\u00e4r som att den knappt har b\u00f6rjat och d\u00e5 reagerar folk med “men du har ju kommit s\u00e5\u00e5 l\u00e5ngt!” f\u00f6r m\u00e5nga hade varit n\u00f6jda med en stor salong, webshop och flera anst\u00e4llda. Men jag har verkligen precis bara b\u00f6rjat! Jag vet inte\u00a0exakt vart jag kommer styra skutan fram\u00f6ver men det \u00e4r en hel del tr\u00e5dar och id\u00e9er som jag nystar i, hur det hela slutar beror p\u00e5 vilka av id\u00e9erna som f\u00e5r vingar och vilka m\u00f6jligheter som uppenbarar sig p\u00e5 v\u00e4gen. Och det vet man aldrig :)<\/p>\n
