My niece Mila turned one in the middle of the day and got a birthday present that was fun for both her and me - she has bothered to dye her hair pink and I got the dreamy assignment to dye her hair pink! : D<\/p>\n

I made my hair turquoise with L'Or\u00e9al Paris Colorista Washout which I wrote about in this post<\/a> and then received press samples of more colors - including the dark pink \/ burgundy red color #Burgundy Hair<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So I bought home bleaching and played hairdresser at home in the kitchen! :)<\/p>\n

Here is the result:<\/p>\n

Surely it turned out well? :) You can imagine how happy she was, she looks collected in these pose pictures but there were eager cheers and jumps when she looked in the mirror haha!<\/p>\n

It stings a little in her soul because her natural hair color is to die for, so heavenly nice! But at the same time she wanted this so much and it is not the case that she who is 7 years old walks around and enjoys her hair color all the time anyway :)<\/p>\n

Why bleach before?<\/strong>
\nThese colors do not attach at all \/ just a little to hair that has not been treated, to me this did not attach at all to the growth but all the color came in the lengths that were treated before.<\/p>\n

And as you can see in her scalp, she basically has her old color there, and that's because I did not bleach all the way up. It stuck a little in the scalp anyway, but I'm basically 100% sure that all the pigment residues disappear in the first wash.<\/p>\n

Here's what we did:<\/p>\n

The bleaching -<\/strong> I'm not a hairdresser, but I'm actually a little unreasonably proud of the balayage brush I did! Yep you heard right, I have studied how my hairdresser does + that she has explained a bit because she has attended several such trainings. So I made a nice transition to the scalp.<\/p>\n

Meeen I probably would not let a hairdresser inspect if you say so;)<\/p>\n

Overall, I do not recommend home bleaching if you have to choose, but it was enough and since she already has quite bright herself, it was a nice tone! I missed taking pictures after just the bleaching but it did not become super blonde but just a lightening. The most important thing was that the pink would stick and not that her hair should be lighter.<\/p>\n

Hair color -<\/strong> Since the color is a dark burgundy color and Mila wanted more pink than red, I mixed the color 50\/50 with conditioner. Partly to get the color lighter but also because it would not stick as hard as the turquoise has done to me.<\/p>\n

Mila has quite thick hair but still we did not have to use all the color in the package but she has a little left to use at a later time, not so much that it is enough for the whole hair but for the tops for example :)<\/p>\n

Sustainability?<\/strong>
\nI will update you on how well this is going in the future. Even though the last of my turquoise is rock hard, I think this will release much better. Red pigments have a tendency to drop very quickly, in addition, my hair is completely clean from silicones and I had the color directly in completely clean hair. Mila's hair has a lot of silicone in it (layer upon layer of silicone can make the color does not adhere as well) and I also mixed the color with a lot of conditioner.<\/p>\n

Then I can imagine that many of you who read are against coloring your hair when you are so young, I fully understand the problem both in a feminist perspective and purely in terms of age with strong means, etc.<\/p>\n

I will not talk so much about it, but just wanted the addition that when it comes to the feminist, I convey very healthy values about appearance and feminine coded things like makeup, pink, etc. and everything that is important that children get from home. I live with my nieces and can influence a lot. Among other things, I am part of a gender group for parents on Facebook, listen to the podcast Penntricket and am generally well-read and interested :) So you do not have to worry about it \u2665<\/p>\n
