It's like the end of an era.<\/em><\/p>\n

It's not often you feel that way: ') but now I do! This is because Miska and I stop at Creative Makeup!<\/p>\n

Annika and the rest of the team will continue to run the salon and the webshop, only Miska and I will stop \u2665<\/p>\n

Jag och Miska startade min webbshop 2012 med ett startkapital p\u00e5 23 000 kronor, som sedan har vuxit till det produktlager och f\u00f6rs\u00e4ljning vi har idag. Stort! Min webbshop byher.se (“her” som i He<\/strong>lena R<\/strong>\u00f6nnblad) was then an individual company then became By Her AB - which today is a limited company that runs an entire beauty salon with employees.<\/p>\n

Vilken resa det varit!\u00a0Det k\u00e4nns \u00e5 ena sidan som att jag l\u00e4mnar bort min bebis och t\u00e4nker “what have we done? How is this going to go?<\/em>? \u201d. On the other hand, I feel like I'm done with this chapter and welcome the change! :)<\/p>\n

Why do we stop?<\/h4>\n

That we made this decision is a mixture of several reasons. It is not a spontaneous decision but has been growing for about 1.5 years!<\/p>\n

Partly it's because I'm starting a brand new makeup brand, which is a full time job just that. I do not have time to develop Creative Makeup and do not like to do things half-heartedly.<\/p>\n

I started the webshop because I thought it was super fun, I love products!<\/p>\n

To then merge with the salon, however, I did not do because I so wanted to run a salon, but because I wanted to build a self-employed business to have a secure salary and at the same time time left to start what I really want to do - a own make-up brand. A goal I had for over 6 years, in other words! :)<\/p>\n

The result, however, was that the salon took so much time and focus that what I thought was most fun, the web shop, suffered. Which is totally okay - I have learned so INCREDIBLY much from the salon and do not regret a single second! :) We had a lot of fun!<\/p>\n

But 1.5 years ago, it struck me that I ran a salon that I knew I would not continue to work with in the future, it has never been my goal. And an online shop that I do not feel as strongly about anymore as I did not have time to develop it as much as I wanted.<\/p>\n

And as I said, I do not like to do things half-heartedly! So we then had two choices; stop Creative Makeup and do something else, or start developing again with new product news, marketing and make the webshop fun again! We chose the latter! I am a fighter, haha! :)<\/p>\n

But just when we were going to invest in new products, marketing, etc., the pandemic came. The buffer was instead used for the salon to survive. My and Miska's salary has been minimal for a very long time. The company is doing well financially\u00a0if<\/em> jag och Miska inte tar l\u00f6n. Att vara f\u00f6retagare betyder att man ibland beh\u00f6ver jobba mycket gratis f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 avkastning senare. Men om man k\u00e4nner att det inte finns n\u00e5got “senare” s\u00e5 fallerar det helt.<\/p>\n

Med andra ord ins\u00e5g vi att det \u00e4r b\u00e4ttre f\u00f6r alla att “l\u00e4mna \u00f6ver min bebis” till mina kollegor redan nu och ist\u00e4llet l\u00e4gga allt krut p\u00e5 sminkm\u00e4rket jag utvecklar! :)<\/p>\n

How does it feel?<\/h4>\n

It's really mixed feelings! Partly scary financially, there is a while left before I can take a salary from the makeup brand. I also do not have time for a job in the meantime, with fixed working hours and so on, but must be able to work remotely with freelance assignments.<\/p>\n

At the same time, change feels good! I do not like when things go in the same rut. And everything works out!<\/p>\n

But also nostalgic, I have met my regular customers more often than I meet my friends, they ARE my friends, haha!<\/p>\n

And so my fine colleagues that I have grown with for several years, I have grown and they have grown!<\/p>\n

Jag ser mig sj\u00e4lv som en ganska bra chef i dagsl\u00e4get, men n\u00e4r jag b\u00f6rjade p\u00e5 Creative Makeup s\u00e5 var jag inte det! Jag startade min enskilda firma samma \u00e5r som jag tog studenten och hade knappt ens varit anst\u00e4lld sj\u00e4lv. Jag kunde inte ens the basics :) Jag var 22 \u00e5r och n\u00e4r min f\u00f6rsta anst\u00e4llda fr\u00e5gade “am I free on red days<\/em>?” s\u00e5 svarade jag “uh I do not know<\/em>" Lol.<\/p>\n

Vi har ocks\u00e5 “flutit bort” fr\u00e5n salongen p\u00f6 om p\u00f6 en l\u00e4ngre tid, s\u00e5 det \u00e4r inte som att dra av ett pl\u00e5ster direkt. F\u00f6r 2,5 \u00e5r sedan b\u00f6rjade vi jobba hemifr\u00e5n (pga lokalflytt och vi inte l\u00e4ngre hade kontor p\u00e5 salongen) och i tv\u00e5 \u00e5r var jag p\u00e5 salongen bara 1-2 dagar\/veckan och tog stamkunder. Men pga pandemin har jag inte ens gjort det nu, har inte haft kunder sedan januari!<\/p>\n

So it would probably have felt stranger if we had stopped 2.5 years ago when I worked at the salon every day :) But now, as I said, it is very mixed, there is a lot I could be stressed about if I allowed myself - but I say myself that everything will only get better!<\/p>\n

Nostalgia! The whole salon gang gathered a few years ago \u2665 Many great memories !!<\/p>\n

What happens now?<\/h4>\n

Nu kommer jag forts\u00e4tta med mitt och Miskas bolag MH Media AB d\u00e4r vi inte “investerar tid f\u00f6r framtiden” utan g\u00f6r mer konkreta jobb som ger int\u00e4kter direkt.\u00a0Miska bygger hemsidor och g\u00f6r digital marknadsf\u00f6ring \u00e5t andra bolag. Jag fotograferar, skriver texter och g\u00f6r olika frilansuppdrag. Det blir ganska blandat! :)<\/p>\n

And invest time in my other company that develops this makeup brand together with Emma Filipsson. It takes time! :) But it's moving forward, haha! We do nothing half-hearted so it takes some time but OJ so good it will be late. So annoying to be able to show you when it's time !!<\/p>\n

The blog also generates some revenue via advertising links and Google ads, so I will continue with it as usual of course!<\/p>\n

So it's only Creative Makeup and the webshop that I end up with, but mine makeup course online<\/a>, the blog and Instagram will continue as usual :)<\/p>\n

As I said, the whole Creative Makeup incl. the webshop to remain! There is great potential with what Miska and I have built up so I think it will flourish even without us \u2665<\/p>\n

Jag t\u00e4nker p\u00e5 den h\u00e4r Laleh-l\u00e5ten “det kommer aldrig bli som f\u00f6rr, bara bli b\u00e4ttre!” haha.<\/p>\n

And do you know anyone who would need to hire me and Miska at MH Media AB, so shout! In addition to websites and digital marketing, I like to do writer-job and photo-job. I am neither a copywriter nor a photographer, but a perfect middle ground when you do not have the time \/ skills yourself but also no budget for the prices that a real photographer charges. For example. product images \/ content for social media, product descriptions, photoshop edits, etc.!<\/p>\n

Really want to strike a blow for me and Miska as a team if you need a new website - he builds the website and I take the pictures. Our customers so far are super happy! : D Check e.g. Peragenda.se<\/a> and Malbyglas.se<\/a> to see our previous jobs.<\/p>\n

So now I'm going to stop chatting! I like to be honest here in the blog and share with me all parts of life as an entrepreneur :)<\/p>\n
