I was incredibly provoked in the way Nyhetsmorgon chose to celebrate International Women's Day, I did not really intend to write about this in the blog because I think the majority of you who read still think similarly to me. But I can not help but haha, have to get it out of me :)
On this day, they chose not to talk about all the millions of problems and injustices women have to put up with today, just for the reason that they were born as women.
No, in Nyhetsmorgon they chose to focus on make-up, or rather that you should dare to show yourself without make-upâŠ
PĂ„ Internationella Kvinnodagen sĂ„ valde Nyhetsmorgon att visa kvinnorna osminkade i TV. Dom har alltsĂ„ suttit runt ett bord pĂ„ TV4, och diskuterat tillsammans “vad vill vi lyfta fram pĂ„ den Internationella Kvinnodagen?” “jo men det hĂ€r med smink Ă€r vĂ€l en kvinnogrej man kan ta upp, vacker utan spackel o.s.v.”. Give me a fucking break..
Prejudices about why you put on make-up
Visst utseendefixeringen har gĂ„tt för lĂ„ngt pĂ„Â flera sĂ€tt, med alla redigerade bilder i media som visar en verklighet som inte existerar. Men att prata om smink pĂ„ det hĂ€r sĂ€ttet blir bara ett till sĂ€tt att lĂ€gga fokus pĂ„ kvinnors utseende och hur man ska/inte ska se ut. Och spĂ€der pĂ„ fördomarna Ànnu mer om att “kvinnor sminkar sig för att behaga andra” eller “man gömmer sig bakom smink”, för det flesta personerna sÄ Àr det faktiskt inte sĂ„.
Industry with the majority of women = not seen with the same value
Jag jobbar i den hĂ€r branschen och kan sĂ€ga att det vĂ€ldigt sĂ€llan handlar om ytlighet och fĂ„fĂ€nga, smink Ă€r jĂ€ttekul och ett roligt sĂ€tt att uttrycka sig kreativt och spegla sin insida! Att mĂ„nga tror att det handlar om nĂ„gonting annat, och tycker att det Ă€r ett ytligt och oviktigt yrke, det grundar enbart i att det Ă€r en kvinnodominerande bransch och som dĂ€rför automatiskt inte fĂ„r samma vĂ€rde. Jag hör sĂ€llan folk sĂ€ga saker som “det bidrar inte med nĂ„gonting bra till samhĂ€llet” om exempelvis sport…
Not the right way to fight unhealthy ideals
Och det Ă€r lite som att varje gĂ„ng man ska “bekĂ€mpa smal-hetsen” sĂ„ vĂ€ljer man kurviga modeller OCH pĂ„pekar detta vĂ€ldigt tydligt, typ som att man Ă€r snygg although you are not size 0, you are good looking although you are unmade. Why not just let it happen naturally, choose models because they look good and fit the theme, regardless of size, and show people both when they are super styled and completely fixed, without making a thing of it as if it is something mega -different.
NĂ€r jag gick i högstadiet sĂ„ hade vi en dag dĂ„ “alla tjejer i klassen skulle vara osminkade” för att pĂ„ nĂ„got vis bekĂ€mpa utseendefixeringen. Gissa vem som var den enda i klassen som kom till skolan med smink ;) Jag visste vad jag tyckte i Ă€mnet redan dĂ„ haha.
This is makeup for me:
- Makeup is fun, inte bara en sak man gör för att “bli snygg”
- Makeup is a way of expressing oneself, precis som mode kan vara. Alla klĂ€r inte pĂ„ sig enbart för att “inte vara nakna” utan Ă€ven för att spegla insidan.
- Makeup is a way to vary its appearance on
- Makeup can be an accessory, red lipstick or colorful eyeliner that enlivens!
- Makeup gives confidence and is a way to take care of yourself, which in turn can also contribute to better self-confidence when you feel good on both the inside and the outside.
- Makeup makes you more alert as it conjures away signs of fatigue and the like, which in turn can also make you feel more alert. You fool the brain, if you see a lively and happy person in the mirror, you feel more lively and happy as well.
- Makeup is not a must for anyone, you do it if you want, if you do not want, you ignore it. You can also be such a person (as I am) who one day is completely unmade up, even among people, and the next day has a gala make-up on a Tuesday.
- People who put on make-up rarely do it for the sake of others, but for its own.
- Makeup is not = appearance fixed. Man behöver inte vara sĂ„ kallad “utseendefixerad” bara för att man sminkar sig. Och Ă€ven om man Ă€r det, sĂ„ Ă€r det inget fel med det.
- Makeup has nothing to do with gender and gender!
In other words, do not care when people say that you put on too much make-up, do not worry when people say that you should put on more make-up, do what you want and feel for :) You are beautiful both with and without make-up, and even if you were not, it does not matter clichéd enough because it is the inside that counts!

Och justja, jag tĂ€nker exakt likadant som dig nĂ€r det gĂ€ller modeller och att det alltid ska pĂ„pekas att det Ă€r tex plus size modeller osv. Ăr det inte bĂ€ttre att bara ta in en modell, skriva om Ă€mnet och inte nĂ€mna nĂ„t om storlek. Ju mer man nĂ€mner storlekar, desto mer “besatt” blir lĂ€sarna av siffror Ă„ storlekar osv. Ăr nog bĂ€ttre att bara lĂ„ta det vara, och vĂ€nja oss lĂ€sare vid att det bara Ă€r modeller och inte plusmodeller osv.
Och att dom vĂ€ljer att sminka av Tilde, som inte sĂ„g ut att ha finnar eller andra “problem” kĂ€ndes ju ocksĂ„ lite sĂ„dĂ€r… Jag menar, oftast om det Ă€r nĂ„gon som kĂ€nner att dom MĂ STE sminka sig sĂ„ Ă€r det för att dom har finnar eller Ă€r röda eller nĂ„t sĂ„nt. Jag sjĂ€lv gĂ„r mest ut osminkad, men tycker om att leka med smink och variera mig osv!

+1 pĂ„ den. Var det pĂ„ riktigt det viktigaste de kunde komma pĂ„? Lika lön för lika arbete, fĂ„ kvinnor i maktposition, utsatta kvinnor i mĂ„nga delar av vĂ€rlden – kan komma pĂ„ mĂ„nga viktigare saker att uppmĂ€rksamma. Jag har f.ö. inga problem att gĂ„ osminkad men att ‘tvingas’ göra det för att uppmĂ€rksamma ojĂ€mlikhet – nej tack. Kram!
