Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics awards - Lumene

3

I love Lumene and often use their products. Super fun that they have come out with so much news in 2013, I think!

There are specifically three products that have gotten an extra thumbs up from me here in the blog, which I have both given good reviews on and used continuously in make-up. And the three products have actually been nominated for the Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards this year!

Then I know I have good taste;)

The products are CC Color Correcting Cream, Cloudberry Volume Serum Mascara and Raspberry Miracle Lip Sorbet, and can thus be warmly recommended by both me and the higher ranked beauty professionals! :)

I have also been invited to the gala on April 3, and it will be so fun to see which products win prizes!

If you are curious about all the nominations, you can take a look here!

Orange, orange, orange

When I did a make-up that highlights blue eyes a while ago, I got the comment that it's a shame that it is such dull colors that highlight blue.

Yellow / orange is the complementary color to blue, which in makeup often becomes gold and such warm earthy colors. But of course you can do a bright orange make-up too! It's not so boring I think :)

I've also become a fan of matching lips and eye makeup, much like this makeup I did this weekend, and I did today too! Orange eye shadow - orange lipstick, crazy nice!

I did not get a good picture of it, but I also have blue nails today which is also highlighted by the make-up when you e.g. removes a strand of hair from the face, talks on the phone and the like :)

Hope you were inspired!

Lumene Eye Shadow Primer

10

I've written about it before, but it's worth reviewing again - Lumene Eye Shadow Primer is the only product that I have always had in my make-up bag, and that I have never exchanged for other brands even though I have tested a lot!

Det är nämligen så att jag då och då fortfarande får frågor om primer, eller frågor där svaret är primer ex. “mina ögonskuggor blir inte lika färgstarka som dina?” och därför är det värt att nämna igen :)

lumene eye shadow primer review

An eyeshadow primer makes your make-up look better, because the eye shadows adhere better and look more pigment-rich.
An eyeshadow primer makes it easier to work with your shadows, as they attach evenly over the lid, which is a plus if you are going to blur two different shades - then there will be two colors next to each other with a nice transition, instead of a blurred mess.
An eye shadow primer makes your make-up last longer, as it prevents the oil from your eyelids from dissolving the shadows so that they wrinkle during the day. With a primer, you can even train in your make-up without it creasing!
An eyeshadow primer is a good economical solution, as it only costs around 100 kroner and instead of buying expensive eye shadows that meet the above requirements, you can instead get cheap brands!

And as I said, I have tested many different eye shadow primers but Lumene is both the best and one of the cheapest - so I highly recommend it!

Ta en liten klick primer på fingret, och dutta på ögonlocket tills det är jämnt och “osynligt”. Ta inte för mycket, men ta så att du täcker ordentligt överallt där du ska applicera ögonskugga.

The only thing you have to remember with a primer, is that it must be saturated with eye shadow so that it is not the least bit moist anymore. If you have more primer than shadow, the primer itself can start to slide around during the day and make the shadows lie in small folds over the eyelid after a few hours.

So dab on properly with eye shadow and the result will be topnotch! :)

Book Flower Manicure

3

Yesterday I was at a press breakfast with Ciaté, really super cozy!

Good to eat, presentation about Ciaté (which was super good for me who actually does not have much control over the brand) and then presentation of both the spring and summer news. Then you also got the nails varnished, and I chose a super sweet lemon yellow nail polish :)

We brought the spring news home with us, and it is no less flower manicure, flower manicure, which is just as it sounds - flowers that you can decorate your nails with!

These are real, dried and pressed small flowers. Each kit comes with two jars that both contain two different flowers, so four different kinds of flowers in total.

The kit is available in light blue and pink. For the light blue the flowers are purple, blue and red, and for the pink lacquer they are yellow, blue and white.

The kit includes:
Two jars of flowers
A colored nail polish.
A top coat.
A pair of tweezers
And nail file.

The tweezers are there to handle the small flowers, without having to pick with their big fingers. The nail file is if you want to put a flower on the side of the nail and it protrudes a little, then you can just file it!

IMG_5137_111

This is how you do it:
1. Paint the colorful nail polish on all the nails.
2. Wait until the colored nail polish has dried completely.
3. Paint a coat of topcoat.
4. Apply the flower (s) to the nail.
5. Paint another layer of top coat, so that the flower is firmly attached to the nail.

My tip is to first and foremost do one nail at a time when tinkering with the flowers. Then when you have made one hand, let it dry completely before you start on the other, it is difficult to tinker with the tweezers without destroying the varnish if it has not dried on that hand yet.

It was not very simple the first time I thought, I will make a new attempt today when the sister comes for coffee and you still just have to sit still and drink coffee :) You will get more pictures of that result later!

But surely it's a super fun idea ??? The nails become super nice and springy !! :) The spring kit will start to be sold in Sweden in about 2-5 weeks.

Blir ni sugna? :)
