Beauty is wellness

One topic that has interested me enormously lately and that we talk a lot about at the salon, is that beauty is not just surface but that it also does very good on the inside.

It's really something I learned after several years in the beauty industry, for most people it's more about well - being than vanity. Beauty is wellness!

The double standard around beauty

All this I just want to erase! I can go from head to toe one day without caring about people's opinions about it, and the other day be completely unmade up with pimples on my face and with a tight tassel on my head because my hair is so frizzy that if I let it out that so the hair would still remain in the shape of a ponytail haha - without caring about people's opinions about it!

And in the same way, I want everyone to be able to do exactly what they want and just enjoy what the beauty routine means to that particular person.

Beauty is not just surface

If I do not feel particularly tired but look in the mirror and see a gray person with a sour mouth, then that's exactly how I will feel later.

It's a bit like smiling at yourself in the mirror even though you are not happy, the brain is not so damn smart always, then you can fool yourself that you are happy and then you will be happier! :) And for me, a nice lipstick or that I like my eye makeup together with this smile is twice as effective! For others, it may be to conjure away a little darkness under the eyes, that the skin has a nice glow or a fun hair color in the hair!

It's about why you do it
It's all about why you use makeup and beauty products. If you think make-up is fun - make-up loose! If you think skin care is fun - cream on! And some people do not think it's fun to hold on and prefer to sleep a little longer, and for them it may be worth it to indulge in more lasting beauty such as lash color or permanent makeup. We are all different and you have to find your own way, beauty is a luxury that I think you should enjoy, it should not be an evil must.

Own time and take care of yourself

Answer yes I am a self-proclaimed expert on everyday luxury;)

For some it is a nightmare to keep up as I do, but for me I think it is a big reason why I am very mentally well despite a lot of stress and pressure as a self-employed + had a tough time with grief and family conflicts since my mom passed away. I have never stopped taking care of the outside of my body which for me has been like cotton for the soul, and it's not just about good looks but about sitting and raw about myself.

Beauty can be therapy for many!
When I was a teenager, I had a lot of problems with both self-esteem and self-confidence and have had to struggle a lot with it. So I know it's not easy. But for me, make-up became therapy, both because it is creative but also because I felt better about it. If I felt insecure, I put on a little harder make-up around the eyes and stared into the mirror with a cool look and then I felt stronger! When I was in a bad mood, I had a green eye shadow from IsaDora and a pink lip gloss with shimmer that always made me happier!

To work with beauty
The best thing about my job is that so many customers really do seems att man gjort dom gladare och mer energifyllda!

We have also had several customers who cried with joy when they saw themselves in the mirror after an eyebrow tattoo, e.g. people who have undergone chemotherapy or have alopecia. We have also had a customer who never went out without make-up because she had such complexes for her skin, but after her brow tattoo, she told us on the return visit that she was so happy with the whole that she could now start going out without make-up. So awesome that a little can do so much for one person!

The goal for most people is not to be model-looking or perfect, but such simple things as highlighting their eyes or framing their face with a pair of well-shaped eyebrows can do so much.

Beauty can obviously be negative as well
As I wrote at the beginning of the post, it is of course individual what beauty means to you. Many people would feel better looking less in the mirror and focusing less on their appearance. You can always find fault if you look for them.

Life does not become perfect just because you get completely symmetrical eyebrows"As my colleague Annika usually says;)

But not to underestimate beauty as a hobby, personal style or wellness - regardless of gender, age, profession, etc., I think it is very important for everyone to dare to look the way they want!

A thousand hugs to you!
